Considered one of the most exciting and innovative duos in Vienna, the Zadory-Topalovic Duo breathes new life into classical repertoire while promoting contemporary works for the violin and cello.
As the smallest of ensembles-types, the Zadory-Topalovic Duo fuses the richness of chamber music with the intimacy of a solo performance mixing their extraordinary string technique on violin and cello both from Gagliano family luthiers, with a modern and innovative sound. Virtuosic and engaging, Edua and Ana consistently create an atmosphere on stage which draws audiences into performances and enriches the concert experience with a dynamic exchange of ideas and stories. Duo is committed to developing a unique repertoire based on exploring classics of the violin-cello literature, as well as creating new works through commissions and their own arrangements and transcriptions.
Zadory-Topalovic Duo was born from an unwavering dedication to the music and composers of all times, a shared approach to music-making and a passion for performance.
The duo enjoys a very productive career on the contemporary music stage and has collaborated with many different artists including Johanna Doderer and Friedrich Cerha. They also developed a strong collaboration with electronic composer Federico Placidi which culminated in the performance and a CD recording in Milan in 2012 also including works from Di Scipio and Valle.
Zadory-Topalovic Duo is available for public or private recitals in addition to educational projects. They are happy to tailor their concerts to particular audiences and are always looking to promote less known pieces and contemporary works.
As individual musicians Edua and Ana lead successful solo and chamber music careers performing concerts throughout Europe, Americas, Australia and Asia from Carnegie Hall to Opera City Hall in Tokio.
